Jason Honeycutt Worship Leader
I couldn't tell you the exact day that I accepted the Lord. I had a "Road to Damascus" conversion. At the lowest point in my life a good friend of mine was there for me to tell me about the healing power of Jesus Christ. A couple days later, on my way home from work, I was overwhelmed with the presence of the Lord. I felt love like I'd never felt before. It was like a warm blanket that just enveloped me. And He said the words "it will be alright". From that moment on, I knew there was a God and that He loved me. My conversion from the person that I was to the person that I am was a long and twisted road. I knew that the life that I was in was the Titanic and Jesus was my lifeboat. Several "devils" tried to block my access along the way, but with the compassion and guidance of some good friends, and the power of God, I am forever saved.
After the departure of the former worship leader in 2008, I felt a calling to do something. We were without a leader for a couple weeks and no one had stepped up, so I took that as a sign from God that I was supposed to help. I approached Pastor Paul about restarting and leading the worship team, and to say that he supported it would be an understatement. I had been playing the bass in the band for over a year already but had very little experience at playing actual notes on a guitar. 4 lessons at a local guitar shop and 4 weeks later, we had a new worship team in place with me as the lead. The biggest adjustment was becoming a lead singer. Let's just say that it's a blessing to everyone that I am surrounded by some very talented singers.
I am also blessed to have my 10 year old son, Bryce playing the drums. Bryce has been given many gifts and talents from the Lord and it is my pleasure to watch him discover them on a regular basis. And that he enjoys using those talents in service to our Lord, is the icing on the cake.
In my spare time I run an online ministry on Youtube under the name TheReprieve. If you have some free time I encourage you to give it a look and get involved. I could always use the support. Be warned, I deal with some pretty vulgar characters. Kids get your parents permission before checking it out.
I currently live in Shalersville Ohio with my wife Monica and our 4 sons. As I am also a trustee of the church, you're almost guaranteed to see my face around the church any time that you are there. King of Glory is a home away from home for us and we consider ourselves blessed to have such a great group of people to fellowship and share our love of Christ with.
